Just breaking on the BBC; Oliver Postgate died yesterday.

Everyone will have own their favourite Postgate output. For me it was The Clangers. His voice was particularly suited to the narration and he's a part of my very young childhood that I still remember with pleasure. No doubt the same will be true for fans of Noggin the Nog, Bagpuss and other Smallfilms productions.

That's a real shame.

I just heard on the news, seconds before reading this. How sad. :(

Not happy.

Clangers and Bagpuss for me, though Bagpuss is the one that has most resonance for my childhood. :(

It was Bagpuss for me - I was completely obsessed.

Apparently Bagpuss time for the tinies meant sneaky G&T time for thousands of stressed mums. Who knew?

Noggin the Nog was the first one I recall, then The Clangers and the others. Definitely a part of my childhood. Thankfully, much of his work is now available on DVD.
