Although I was able to eliminate it as a possibility late last year, I can now confirm I'm suffering from memory loss. However, the nice people at Crucial will be replacing the faulty component free of charge under their rather good Lifetime Warranty.

I'm quite lucky they have a couple of sticks of the relevant type of memory still in stock, as I originally bought it in November 2001.

Interesting! Yours is the second affirmation of the niceness of the folks at Crucial that I've heard this week. I may have to contact them myself (my laptop doesn't quite meet the basic spec for World of Warcraft... yes, I know that's sad).

Although their automatic ´detect your own configuration' didn't identify my computer correctly, which worried me a bit. It claimed I had a Dell, while I actually have a Packard Bell Easynote R, which wasn't on their list at all.
