I've just discovered that the boss of the company I work for has been keeping a blog for a couple of months. I've syndicated it on LiveJournal as andylothian for anyone who uses their friends page as their feed aggregator and wants to follow it.

As a software developer, I'm not always as engaged in what Insights actually does as the people at the pointy end of the company are, but I am impressed with Andy's blog, which seems well-targetted and readable, and is a good step towards building a genuine public community for Insights online.

If you like reading the odd motivational story or snippet, these are short, well-written and thoughtful ones, and not too frequent. If you don't, you now know what to avoid! It's not the sort of thing I usually subscribe to, but I have an obvious interest in this one.

Iceland...

I noticed you're in Iceland, Nik. I visited there last week for a few hours, and joind Heimir and Sirri on the telly on Ísland í bítið before giving a keynote talk. Lots of fun. The TV footage is at http://veftivi.visir.is/veftivi/main.do?treeId=2002&progId=24894&itemId=20478 about 1 hr 21 into the show. It lasts for just a few minutes. Best wishes, Andy

Blockhead

I never knew you were so fluent in Icelandic, Andy - I understood every word! Those presenters must have a bit of an accent though.

Re: Iceland...

That's a very effective use of hats!

Is there a cut-down online version of the test? I'm doing a video and self-awareness lab with my third years next week, and it occurs to me that it would not only be a good thing for them to do, but it would also be quite nice to say 'as seen on Ísland í bítið'.

Re: Iceland...

Perhaps we could get Lisbet to support you, Nik. I'll connect you with her and we can go from there.

Lisbet Einarsdottir [lisbet@lectura.is]

I admit I was nervous when the interview started in the local lingo. Their English is better than my Icelandic!

Andy
